Abstract

In this project, an application was created to inform a user about various room parameters. Several interfaces between the sensors and the application are used. The sensors used are wired to the microcontrollers and the controllers are programmed to read out the data. In addition, there is a microcontroller that processes the data and communicates with the microcontrollers, that are connected with the sensors, via Bluetooth Low Energy. The data received is sent via MQTT to a database where the broker is located. From there, the data goes to the open source IoT platform OpenRemote for data analysis and simultaneously to the application, created with Mendix Studio Pro 9.6.1, for visualisation to the user. The application is able to display different text and image outputs depending on the incoming values. This provides the user simple and understandable instructions for optimising his room parameters.
